The Lakeview Area Public Library in Sandy Lake will hold several upcoming events.
Chess Club will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 1 and 15, during which participants will learn to play chess.
Preschool story time will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. Playtime will be from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m. Snack time is at 10:45 a.m. followed by singing songs, reading the story and doing a related activity.
Book club will meet at 2 p.m. Feb. 11. The club will discuss “Winter Garden” by Kristin Hannah.
National Take Your Child to the Library Day is Feb. 1.
Reading Bingo, the winter reading challenge for adults and children, is occurring through Feb. 15. More information is available by logging onto Beanstack on the Lakeview Library website at /lakeviewarealibrary.org.
The Cookbook Challenge will be at 5 p.m. Feb. 21. The featured theme is “SOUPS” and people may register on the library’s website.
