Justus Park drainage project in full swing

Travis Earp of Horizon Construction puts soil from Justus Park through a topsoil screener machine in the parking lot of the former Days Inn Hotel. The topsoil will be returned to Justus Park by the end of the project.

Crews in Oil City’s Justus Park are working on a $120,000 drainage improvement project set to finish by early September. The park, originally built 50 years ago on landfill material, has experienced sagging due to soil settling. The project, funded by grants and local contributions, involves installing drains to redirect water into the Allegheny River to address the issue.
