Leonard Friedman, 43, of Jackson Center, is facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide and drug delivery resulting in death, in connection with what police describe as a possible “double suicide” pact. Authorities responded to a Lake Township residence on Sept. 27, where Friedman allegedly made statements about “suicide by cop.” Inside, police found a deceased woman who had overdosed on fentanyl and methamphetamine. Friedman admitted to purchasing and using the drugs with her but claimed uncertainty about her intentions. Text messages between them suggested a prearranged suicide pact in case “the world was gonna end.” Instead of calling emergency services after finding her dead, Friedman contacted his mother and later sought more drugs. He now faces felony and misdemeanor charges, with a preliminary hearing pending.
