Interstate 80 crash causes road closure

There were no injuries in this one-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 eastbound near the 48-mile marker in Richland Township shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Emlenton Fire Department. The crash blocked both lanes of the interstate, causing I-80 eastbound to close between exits 45 and 53. Traffic was rerouted onto Route 208 while I-80 was closed, the fire department said. The closure was due to the semi-truck and trailer crashing and rolling onto its side, according to the fire department. Clarion state police said Thursday the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Clarion County 911 said the scene cleared around 2 a.m. Thursday. Clarion 911 added there were no weather-related incidents overnight Wednesday into Thursday in its service area.
