I-79, Route 80 pavement patching project to start Wednesday

A $3.2 million repair project on Interstate 79 and Route 80 in northwest Pennsylvania is set to begin on Wednesday. The project will cover 26 miles of I-79 in Mercer County and 27 miles of I-80 in Mercer and Venango counties. It includes milling, paving, concrete patching, and new pavement markings, as well as minor repairs to eight bridges. Construction, weather permitting, will continue until August 22, 2025, with lane restrictions and potential travel delays. Glenn O. Hawbaker of State College is the contractor, and the project is fully funded by federal money.
