Venango County will sponsor a public collection of household hazardous waste and electronics from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the back parking lot of the Cranberry Mall.
The event is open to all Venango County residents.
Anyone who wants to drop off items must pre-register prior to the event with the collection vendor, Environmental Coordination and Services, either online at ECSR.net or by calling (866) 815-0016.
A charge that is associated with proper disposal of these materials will be calculated and collected.
The charges are 87 cents a pound for household hazardous waste (paints, chemicals, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, etc.), 45 cents a pound for TVs and monitors, 52 cents a pound for small freon containing devices, and 25 cents a pound for all other electronics (laptops, printers, microwaves, cell phones, stereos, etc.) .
