The Venango County Historical Society will present a program on early oil history in Venango County at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oil City Library.
Guest speaker Dan Weaver will present the program, which is called “The Early Oil Daze in Venango County.”
Weaver’s presentation will give an overview of the 1860s oil industry, boomtowns, technology, and people involved that helped shape the world,” according to a press release from the historical society.
Weaver has more than two decades of experience in and around the fossil fuel industry.
He currently serves as president and executive director of the Pennsylvania Independent Oil & Gas Association.
