From staff reports
Sugarcreek Borough police observed an aggressive driver identified as Justin D. Stromyer, 26, of Oil City, in the 1000 block of Meadville Pike, Wednesday.
Stromyer was observed on a blue Yamaha sport bike traveling 63 mph in a 45 zone, and fled at high speed when officers attempted to stop him.
The pursuit continued west on Route 322, reaching speeds in excess of 120 mph, while the suspect passed in no passing zones and emergency response areas. Borough police called off their pursuit at Route 322 and Route 173.
Officers from Cambridge Springs, West Mead, and Meadville briefly observed the suspect later, still traveling at high speed, and attempted to stop Stromyer, who fled.
In Meadville, the bike failed to stop at several stop signs and hit another vehicle at the intersection of South Main Street and Archer Street. The accident was minor and no injuries were reported.
Stromyer was arraigned before Judge Andrew Fish and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police officers, and twenty-three summary violations.
Bail was set at $15,000. Stromyer was remanded to Venango County jail. A preliminary hearing has been set for 1:30 p.m. March 30 at the Venango County Courthouse.
