Grove students vandalize high school as senior prank

From staff reports

A group of 15 students broke into Rocky Grove High School late Monday night as part of a senior prank.

Sugarcreek Borough police said the students entered the school through a window between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the students vandalized the school with eggs, toilet paper, soap, paper and shaving cream as a senior prank.

All the students could have been facing charges of burglary, institutional vandalism and several other offenses, police said.

But Valley Grove School District officials, the Venango County district attorney’s office and Sugarcreek police opted for a lesser charge that wouldn’t follow the students through their adult life, police said.

As a result, each student was charged with a summary violation, police said.
