They’re grrrreat

Clarion PAWS in Shippenville has Rayna and Roger available for adoption.

“Roger was part of one of our relocation projects. He and his sister Rayna were just tiny 6 week olds. Even at that point they tried to be feral,” the shelter said in a Facebook post.

Roger

Roger

“Roger has come a long way and loves attention. He is shy when you move too quickly but will gladly climb on your lap if you sit down. You can tell them apart as Roger is a polydactyl. If you’d like to give a shy kitten a chance Roger is your guy,” the rescue said.

Rayna

Rayna

“Rayna is Roger’s sister. She is much more timid. She does not mind people but is still very scared around new people and too much commotion,” the shelter said in a Facebook post. “If you have time to work with her she would be a wonderful cat. She just needs a quiet home to teach her how to trust.

The shelter is also in need of Purina Kitten Chow, the yellow bag.

Clarion PAWS is located at 11348 Route 322, Shippenville, Clarion River Hill, between Scrap Happy and Clarion Electric. The adoption center is open from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Patience appreciated

UPDATE: A post on the Venango County Humane Society’s Facebook page on Monday, Aug. 7, stated that the cat area would remain temporarily closed.

Earlier information from the shelter indicated that the area may have been able to open this week.

People should call the shelter or check its Facebook page for updates.

The shelter posted earlier this week on Facebook that the cat area was closed to the public and volunteers beginning Monday, July 31.

“We have had a batch of cats come in with ringworm and we need to continue to disinfect the room and also monitor all of our kitties for any signs of the fungus,” the post said.

“Your patience is very much appreciated as we have a long list of cat/kittens waiting to come in … ,” the post continued.

“Emma is very loving and playful. She listens well when on the leash and will need a daily walk. Emma will also enjoy a chance to explore in a safe area,” the shelter said in a Petfinder listing.
