Venango County has been awarded nearly $90,000 that can be distributed to agencies and organizations that provide food and shelter programs.
A portion of the money — $21,870 — was provided under the national Emergency Food and Shelter Program through the Department of Homeland Security.
The rest of the funds — $67,594 — were awarded to the county through the American Rescue Plan.
The total amount received by the county is $89,464.
Local agencies that meet eligibility requirements can apply for the funding at www.unitedwayofvenangocounty.org.
Grants will be open through April 10, Price said.
