The Oil City Library’s Friends of the Library group will hold its annual Groundhog Day bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the library.
The Friends of the Library’s mission is to support the library by providing volunteers and financial support throughout the year.
In addition to the bake sales (another one is held annually on Halloween), the Friends group holds weekly used book sales on Saturday mornings in the library basement, a large book sale during the Oil Heritage Festival and several raffles throughout the year.
These events have helped provide funding to support Christmas Past activities, summer reading programs and improvements within the library.
