The Friends for Food campaign, a partnership between Community Services of Venango County and The Derrick/The News-Herald, has raised $15,557 to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need. This effort includes advertisements with donation options and a website link. Funds are used to purchase turkeys and other essentials for Thanksgiving meals, with 1,100 bags distributed last year. The distribution is set for Nov. 23 at Rocky Grove Fire Hall. Recent donations were made by community members and families across several towns, many given in memory of loved ones.
