The Friends for Food campaign has raised an additional $6,782, bringing the total to $12,357 for this year’s fundraising effort. A collaboration between Community Services of Venango County and The Derrick/The News-Herald, the campaign helps provide Thanksgiving dinners to families in need. The funds go toward purchasing turkeys and other food items, with last year’s distribution supplying 1,100 bags of food. This year’s distribution will take place on November 23 at the Rocky Grove fire hall. Donations can be made through newspaper ads or online, and the latest donors are recognized for their contributions in memory of loved ones.
