The Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department hosted the 34th annual Friends for Food Distribution, organized by Community Services of Venango County, where gratitude and community spirit were palpable. Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, 1,100 turkeys and $20 Sander’s Market vouchers were distributed to those in need, with a long line of vehicles forming well before the event began. Director Meghan Dunham, a seasoned volunteer, expressed her passion for helping others and fostering future generations of volunteers, noting the importance of ensuring everyone can enjoy a holiday meal. Supported by 60 volunteers, including Riders Advocating Against Child Abuse, the event was a resounding success, distributing all resources and raising $29,836.38 in donations. The festive atmosphere was highlighted by staff member Rachel Eaton donning a turkey costume, and Dunham concluded by celebrating the positivity and appreciation shared by all involved.
