Franklin’s annual holiday festivities kicked off today with the arrival of a 35-foot spruce Christmas tree, donated by the McGee family, via the “Christmas Tree Express” to its downtown location at the Venango County Courthouse. Planted in 2002, the tree thrived in full sunlight, outgrowing its counterparts. With the help of local organizations, nearly 2,000 lights and a custom star topper will adorn the tree in preparation for the Light Up Night celebration on November 23. The evening will feature the Electric Lights Parade, themed “Songs of the Season,” a fireworks display, and various events like a cookie walk, a Christmas Tree Extravaganza, and performances of *The Great North Pole Bake-Off*. Santa will make a special arrival during the parade, while food vendors and live music add to the festive atmosphere.
