A Franklin woman, Kimberly Ace, has been charged with stealing over $117,000 from an elderly woman for whom she served as power of attorney. The theft was discovered after the Venango County Area on Aging and the woman’s bank reported suspicious activity. Ace was authorized to manage bills and buy food but allegedly made 156 ATM withdrawals and additional account withdrawals between October 2023 and July 2024, totaling $117,392. Ace admitted to mishandling the money and has been charged with several felonies, including financial exploitation and theft. Her preliminary hearing is set for September 25.
