The City of Franklin street division will begin to pick up bags of leaves in the city on Monday.
Paper biodegradable bags can be filled with leaves and placed along residents’ front yards near the street for pickup by street division workers.
City crews will pick up only the paper biodegradable bags, which can be purchased at local stores. City Hall does not sell the bags.
Bags of leaves will be picked up on Mondays and Fridays through the fall season.
The city’s vacuum machine leaf pickup program will begin later this month. Weekly schedules will be posted in the newspaper and on the city’s website.
