The “Sounds of Summer” concert series will return to Bandstand Park in Franklin on Thursday evenings beginning next month.
A summertime tradition in Franklin, the series once again includes a mix of performances by the Franklin Silver Cornet Band and a variety of other musical acts.
“One of the best parts of summer is seeing Bandstand Park packed with people enjoying music and fellowship with each other,” said Ronnie Beith, the Franklin events coordinator.
The schedule includes the following performances:
June 2 — Franklin Silver Cornet Band
June 9 — Dempseytown Ramblers
June 16 — Franklin Silver Cornet Band
June 23 — Key Factor (Mark DeWalt and Friends)
June 30 and July 7 — Franklin Silver Cornet Band
July 14 — Max Schang Band
July 21 — Franklin Silver Cornet Band
August 4 — Franklin Silver Cornet Band (166th anniversary concert)
August 11 — Coversome (Randy Moorehead and Logan McMahon)
August 18 — Franklin Silver Cornet Band
August 25 — Mostly Brass Band
Franklin Silver Cornet Band performances start at 7:30 p.m. All other concerts will start at 7 p.m.
While there are some benches in the park, attendees are encouraged to take a chair or blanket.
Information such as weather-related cancellations or other updates will be posted on the Franklin, PA Events/Marketing Office Facebook page.

The concert series is hosted by the Franklin Fine Arts Council and sponsored by Mike and Joyce Hughes.
