Twenty-six Franklin students participated in the LinguiSHTIK tournament at Slippery Rock University. They competed across four divisions and represented all classes from fifth through 12th grade.

“The Lords of Ling” team consisting of Trevor Wood, Adam Taylor, Kiaran Rios, Sam Burchfield and Tyler Wood, finished in first place in the senior division. This win allowed them to defend their title as LinguiSHTIK champions from last year.

The junior division team, Logan Burchfield, David Ferraro, Chris Bullard, Jordan Irvine, and Julia Lusher narrowly missed the platform by finishing fourth, two points from third place.

The middle division team comprised of Adam Luther, Alyssa Shick, Robbie Moffitt, Ryleigh Henry, and Christina Bullard finished in seventh place.

Several Franklin students were recognized individually as undefeated in the games. Tyler Wood, Trevor Wood, Adam Taylor, David Ferraro, Robbie Moffitt, Carlito Motter, and Kaizer Kadylak were all presented certificates for their achievement.

With their undefeated games, Motter, Kadylak, and Moffitt will begin preparations for the state tournament in March and will hope for another win in their bid for the National Academic Games Tournament to be held in Knoxville, Tennessee.
