From staff reports
The City of Franklin Street Division has announced that it will be street sweeping on two shifts this spring. The schedule will be posted every week in Saturday’s edition of the paper.
When the schedules are posted, odd sides refer to address numbers that end in odd numbers and even sides are for those buildings that end in even numbers.
Here is the schedule for next week:
Tuesday — 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights; and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., even side of Elk Street from 11th to First; even side of Buffalo Street from First to 11th.
Wednesday — 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Gurney Road side of Franklin Heights; and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., odd side of Buffalo Street from 11th to First; odd side of Liberty Street from 11th to First.
Friday — 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Green Tree side of Franklin Heights; and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., even side of 11th, Ninth, Seventh and Fifth streets; odd side of 10th, Eighth, Sixth and Fourth streets; both sides of 600 and 700 blocks of Egbert Street.
Residents may see temporary No Parking signs along some streets with times and days to be swept.
Sweeper breakdowns or inclement weather may cause some rescheduling or delays.
Any residents wishing to sweep their streets before the sweeper arrives may sweep anti-skid into piles in front of their property for pickup by city workers.
Those who do so, as well as those who have paper biodegradable bags of leaves to be picked up during spring clean-up, are asked to call the city maintenance center at 814-437-1600, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Friday, to give locations of the anti-skid piles or bags of leaves.
