The Franklin Area School District agreed to a $175,000 settlement with former teacher Marcy Brown, ending her third lawsuit against the district. Brown, who previously sued in 2012 and 2014 for gender discrimination and hostile work environment, filed her latest case in 2023, claiming age discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation. The district denied these allegations, citing a Title IX investigation that concluded Brown violated harassment policies. The settlement, covered by the district’s insurance, includes compensation to Brown and her attorney, retirement bonuses, and optional continued health insurance. Both parties agreed to refrain from future disparagement, with no admission of wrongdoing from either side.
