Franklin School District seeks projects for leftover grant funds

The Franklin School District is redirecting leftover funds from HVAC projects that came in under budget to other needed upgrades. With $80,495.53 in American Rescue Plan ESSER grant funds remaining, the district must use the money by September 30 or return it to the government. One proposed project is the installation of new exterior doors at Sandycreek Elementary School, which could use about $53,000 of the leftover funds. Other upcoming approvals include a partnership with Catapult Learning LLC for instructional services and agreements for special education funding. Additionally, the school board is restructuring its committees, and the district is seeking food service staff due to current vacancies. The meeting also included a remembrance of former board member Ben Andrews, who recently passed away.
