Producers from the WQLN-TV series “Our Town” wrapped up interviews in Franklin on Friday afternoon at the Venango County Historical Society.

Twenty-four interviews were conducted over the course of Thursday and Friday, producer Shannon Ferrare said.

“The participation has been going great. We’ve been fortunate here that people are willing and stepping forward,” Ferrare said.

Residents covered an array of topics, including Applefest, DeBence Antique Music World, the Silver Cornet Band and performing arts.

Past “Our Town” stories have included favorite recreational activities, local eats and drinks, arts and culture, noteworthy architecture, community grass-roots projects, historic events, famous residents past and present, rite of passage “hijinks,” and snapshots of everyday community life.

The 15-minute interviews will be compiled into a 90-minute program with collected photos and videos to accompany each story. Those interviewed also had the chance to sign out video cameras at the library and gather footage around town.

Towns previously featured on the series have included Oil City, Titusville, Meadville and Corry.

“Our Town: Stories from Franklin” is slated to premiere at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, on WQLN-TV 54, with live streaming at http://www.WQLN.org.
