The first Franklin Library Gala event, Between the Bookends, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Quality Inn in Franklin.
Anne Bakker, library gala coordinator, said the event promises to be a funfilled event complete with hors d’oeuvres, a complimentary cocktail, Chinese auction baskets and a very special speaker, Hedda Sharapan.
Sharapan began working with Fred Rogers at the inception of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” in 1966. She continues her work at the Fred Rogers’ Company. She will mark 50 years of service to families and children in October.
Between the Bookends is a non-profit event whose goal is to raise funds to benefit the Franklin library by updating the technology as well as generating awareness of the vast variety of services it
provides, Bakker added.
The cost of the gala is $15 and tickets may be purchased at the Franklin library or from a board member.
