The Friends of the Franklin Public Library will hold a mini-quiltathon fundraiser next month.
The library’s 25th annual quiltathon will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12, on the library lawn, weather permitting.
The event was originated by Bobbie Watkins. Participating quilters will collect sponsorships to help raise funds for the library.
A 25-block quilt top made by Susan Betz and Krista Cloonan that commemorates the 25th anniversary of the library fundraiser will be displayed at the event along with another quilt top, titled “Very Hungry Caterpillar,” which was made by Cheryl Butler.
All quilters and sponsors will be eligible to win one of the two projects in a drawing to be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5.
Anyone interested in participating in the fundraiser may call the library at 432-5062 or visit the library for an informational packet.
