Adam Guthrie, supervisor and owner of Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Franklin, was honored with the 2024 Community Service Award by the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) at its annual conference in Savannah, Georgia. The award recognizes independent funeral homes for outstanding community service, and Guthrie’s funeral home was chosen for its various events aimed at helping people transition from grief to healing. These events include a Valentine’s Day lunch for widows and widowers, a Veterans Day lunch, a holiday remembrance service, and healing grief through art classes, as well as a butterfly release memorial service. Guthrie expressed his honor and commitment to creating meaningful events to support the community.
