Franklin attic fire causes minimal damage to home, 2 displaced

A fire broke out in the attic of a home on Elk Street in Franklin on Saturday afternoon, but no injuries were reported. Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive interior attack, containing the damage to the attic, with possible water and smoke damage. The rest of the house was unharmed, but two residents were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross. Mutual aid was called in as Franklin fire crews were still attending to an earlier fire in Oil City. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the scene was cleared by 5:05 p.m.
