A former Titusville Area School District physical education teacher accused of statutory sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy pleaded guilty to three counts Tuesday in Crawford County.
Rochelle Lee Cressman, 33, entered guilty pleas to three felony counts of statutory sexual assault in a plea deal. She had been facing 66 charges in the case.
The other 63 counts won’t be prosecuted.
She had been lodged in the Crawford County jail but is currently out of jail on bail.
Corry state police had said the assaults on the boy occurred at multiple locations, including private residences in Oil Creek Township and Titusville.
Police said the investigation into the allegations against Cressman began after the boy’s mother had been advised by the boy of the nature of his relationship with Cressman.
Upon further investigation and interviews, police said they learned Cressman and the boy had been in an intimate relationship that began in September 2018 and ended in April.
Police said the boy told them he had sexual relations with Cressman at least 10 times and that he had multiple other sexual encounters with her.
A criminal complaint filed in the case said Cressman is alleged to have threatened to harm herself and to harm or kill the boy if anyone were to find out about their relationship.
Titusville Superintendent Karen Jez confirmed in May when the charges were filed that Cressman was a teacher in the district but hadn’t performed any duties within the district since April 12.
Cressman had taught at Titusville Middle School.
Jez also said in May the district was fully cooperating with the investigation by law enforcement and Children and Youth Services.
Cressman is now awaiting sentencing.
