Former Marine and Titusville native Davey Lind will speak at 7 p.m. today at the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 Veterans of Foreign Wars on John Street, Titusville.
Lind served with the U.S. Marine Corps, being deployed to Okinawa, Japan, the Philippine islands, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait as part of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
After completing several reconnaissance schools, he was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq.
In June 2007, Lind was injured when the Hummer he was riding in hit a roadside bomb.
After his recovery, Lind was promoted to master sergeant and served as operation chief to the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion. He retired from the Marines in 2009.
Lind’s presentation at the VFW hall is open to the public.
