Former Franklin man sentenced in federal case

Aaron Ray McClelland, a former resident of Franklin, has been sentenced to seven years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution for receiving and possessing material depicting the sexual exploitation of children. U.S. District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter handed down the sentence. Between October 2020 and July 2021, McClelland received images of prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christian A. Trabold, with commendations given to the FBI, state police, and Indiana County District Attorney’s Office for their investigative efforts.
