Forest students getting opportunity to earn college credits

Students in the West Forest literature and interpretation course engage in a spirited peer-led debate with their teacher, Sarah Huth. At the end of the school year, these students will all earn three college credits to transfer to their accepting higher education institution.

Juniors and seniors at West Forest and East Forest high schools can earn dual enrollment college credits through the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s College in High School program, where select teachers serve as adjunct professors. This year, a grant covered admission fees, allowing all students to participate at no cost. Students can earn up to 23 college credits, receive guaranteed admission to Pitt-Bradford after graduation, and qualify for a $1,000 scholarship. These courses help students save on tuition, experience college-level coursework, and gain an advantage in future college scheduling.
