Students from East and West Forest schools participated in “The 12 Signs of Christmas,” a sign language challenge organized by speech pathologist LeEllen Gibbons to promote awareness of American Sign Language. Teams learned 12 signs, competed in a judged event, and celebrated with prizes for winning teams: Chris Pappas’s “Nerds from Third” at East Forest and Lisa Schmidt’s third-grade class at West Forest. The next challenge is titled “Hippity Hoppity Hands.”
