Future Leaders and Entrepreneurs Exchange (FLEX), the young professionals organization of the Venango Area Chamber of Commerce, hosted its annual meeting Friday at Karma Coffee.
The evening consisted of free professional headshots, hors d’oeuvres and beverages, networking, and trivia.
Kat Thompson, the FLEX president, reviewed the past year. She talked about socials, volunteer activities, the speaker series, and other FLEX milestones this year.
Leadership for 2022 was elected, and the officers are Saxon Daugherty of PennDOT, president; Laura Ordaz of Komatsu Mining Corp., vice president and secretary; Lyndsey King of the City of Oil City, events and fundraising chair; Ivy Kuberry of Oil Creek State Park, events and fundraising vice chair; Jessica Wilson of WebFX, marketing/community partnerships chair; and Joslyn Dechant of UPMC Health Plan, membership chair.
“Highlight Awards” were also given to FLEX members who contributed to the organization in 2021. Recipients were Casey McVay of Clarion University, Laura O’Neil of The Derrick, Kuberry, Amariliz Sanchez of Clarion University, and Rebecca Beach of the Northwest Commission.
FLEX currently has more than 150 members, and any professionals under 40 who live or work in Venango County can join.
