The Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad will run the Fall Folliage rides from Wednesday, Oct. 3, to Sunday, Oct. 21. The rides will depart at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays the departure times will be 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The main station is Perry Street Station located at 409 South Perry St, Titusville.
The three-hour round-trips through Oil Creek State Park take the passengers to where oil history began. Passengers will learn about the people and places that made up Pennsylvania oil country. A variety of wildlife, including blue heron, bald eagles, ducks, deer and groundhogs could be seen. Occasionally, a black bear is spotted.
Weather permitting, passengers will have access to the open air gondola car, which provides an uninhibited view of Oil Creek Valley. The Railway Post Office car, the only yet in operation in America, will also be accessible. Postcards and letters can be sent right from the car. Snack and beverages will be available on the RPO car, as well as at our Perry Street Station and Rynd Farm Station.
The train is handicapped accessible. First class seats are no longer available. Tickets for coach cast $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $14 for children ages 2-12 and free for 2 and younger.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes prior to departure as the OC&T adheres to a strict schedule. All who are not onboard when the whistle blows five minutes before departure will be permitted to board. Due to space limitations no pets, bicycles, canoes or kayaks will be permitted in October.
Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad reserves the right to cancel any train ride due to circumstances beyond control.
