ERIE – A former Pleasantville man was sentenced Monday in federal court to 16 years in jail and five years supervised release for violating federal laws relating to the sexual exploitation of children.
In addition, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release, Scott A. Anthony, 50, also has been ordered to pay $30,162.96 in restitution.
According to information presented to the court, the evidence presented at trial established Anthony produced sexually explicit videos depicting two minors.
Anthony surreptitiously recorded the two minor victims, without their knowledge, while they were using a bathroom, according to the court information.
Prior to imposing sentence, U.S. District Judge David S. Cercone noted Anthony’s conduct was extremely disturbing and occurred over a lengthy period.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Acting U.S. Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, state police and Millcreek Township Police Department for the investigation leading to the prosecution of Anthony.
