From staff reports
Applications are still being accepted for the 39th annual Oil Heritage Festival parade. Returning again this year will be clowns, fire trucks, bands, floats and more.
This year’s theme is “Oil City: A Transportation Hub Then and Now.”
Entries are encouraged to celebrate the features of Oil City as a transportation link past, present and future. Suggestions for ideas include the river, railroad, trolley, air service and the upcoming multimodal hub.
The parade will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 22. It will start at the corner of Orange and West First streets and end in front of PNC Bank on Seneca Street, just after the judging area.
The Venango Area Chamber of Commerce will accept late entries in the parade. Interested groups or organizations should contact the chamber as soon as possible at (814) 676-8521 or obtain a form online at
www.oilheritagefestival.com.
