Emlenton’s Main Street hosted the annual Emlenton Summer Festival over a hot and sunny weekend. Festivities began Friday morning with community yard sales and the Station 55 Fireman’s Strawberry Social. The event celebrated local contributors Fred and Carla Hays, and Steve and Susan King as grand marshals, who rode in antique vehicles during the parade. Highlights included a jazz performance, frog jumping contest, pinewood derby race, and “Baby Beautiful” contest. Due to construction at Hughes Park, the festival moved downtown, where vendors lined the streets. The festival concluded with a Fireman’s Parade, an outdoor concert, and a fireworks display from the Route 38 bridge.
