Hi, my name is Diane Cartwright. I’m going to break the trend and be the first non-newsroom employee to introduce myself!
I started working at the newspaper in 2008 as a summer advertising intern. I interned again in 2009, and then I was hired full-time in 2010 as the Online Marketing Coordinator. My co-workers refer to me as the “online girl.” I’m involved in almost every aspect of TheDerrick.com, including online subscriptions, marketing and website development.
I graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in Management. My grade school days were spent right here in Oil City. It’s safe to say I bleed blue and white!
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy doing things that don’t require the use of a computer (hey, everyone needs a break!). One of my favorite activities is playing in the Franklin Silver Cornet Band with my husband Dan (I play flute and he plays trumpet). I also like to unwind by making homemade cards with my friends, spending time with my family and cat Annie, and planning my next crafting project.
We are always looking for ideas for TheDerrick.com. If you have something to suggest, give me a call at 814-677-8348 or send me an email at circulation.thederrick@gma
