From staff reports
The Oil City Salvation Army’s dental center is preparing for its annual Give Kids A Smile Day which will be held Thursday, March 23, at the center at 217 Sycamore St.
This year the day will feature additional support provided by Children’s Hospital, and the UPMC mobile dental van will be present.
About 100 children were served last year, and organizers are hoping to serve about 200 children this year with the additional help.
Children will participate in games and crafts, preventative education in oral health and personal safety, and have access to dental services at the center.
Those who want more information or who want to register their children can call (814) 670-0374.
The event is held in cooperation with the Salvation Army Oil City Worship and Service Center and Dental Center, The Dental Health Task Force and various community sponsors.
Volunteers and support will be provided by various area agencies and businesses.
Help is available for those who are underinsured or without insurance.
