Deep Hollow Road bridge work to begin next week

From staff reports

PennDOT will begin rehabilitation work next week on a bridge that carries Deep Hollow Road over Two Mile Run in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Work is expected to begin July 10 and be completed by July 21, 2017.

The bridge is located on Deep Hollow Road, about three quarters of a mile north of the intersection with Route 322. Work will involve repairs to the bridge facia beam, parapets and substructure.

Employees of PennDOT’s Venango County maintenance unit will perform the repair work.

A detour will be required during construction. The posted detour will use Bredinsburg Road and Route 322.

The 30-foot-long bridge was built in 1957 and is classified as structurally deficient. The bridge is used by an average of about 700 vehicles a day.
