The deadline is nearing to submit registration packets for the eighth annual Taste of Talent Vocal Competition.
The competition is sponsored by the Franklin Fine Arts Council and is open to individual soloists ages 16 years old and up. Competitions are held starting Wednesday, June 28, at Bandstand Park in downtown Franklin.
Registration packets may be submitted through the beginning of May.
The Taste of Talent application packet is available at www.franklinpa.gov under the Festival/Events tab or by calling (814) 437-1619, Ext. 123 or by emailing rbeith@franklinpa.gov.
Competitions will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, June 28; July 5, 12, 19 and 26.
The semi-finals will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, and the finals will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, immediately following Taste of Franklin.
The winner of the competition will receive $1,000. Prizes totaling $200 will be awarded to the three semi-finalists.
The council said The Taste of Talent competition has been a huge success with audiences of 800 to 1,400. Competitors are quite popular and in demand in performing venues, the council added.
