Crews will be inspecting poles starting Monday for Central Electric

From staff reports

Crews will be inspecting poles on Central Electric Cooperative circuits originating from Nectarine, Mineral and Sandy Creek substations in Venango County.

The cooperative’s contractor, Osmose Utilities Services, will begin work Monday, April 2.

Cooperative members and others with Central Electric’s electric poles on their property may see these inspections being conducted.

Inspections typically include a visual inspection, sounding of the pole with a hammer and excavation up to 18 inches around the base of the pole.

Poles identified as having issues will either be addressed in the field by Osmose, or by Central Electric personnel at a later time.

All Osmose representatives and Central Electric employees carry company-issued identification.

Central Electric respects property owners’ rights and will complete the work required as quickly and professionally as possible.

The project will last several months.

Central Electric will give additional notice when the project is complete.

Those having questions or comments, may contact Central Electric’s Bill Betros, assistant manager of operations, at (800) 521-0570, Ext. 2209.

Central Electric Cooperative is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving about 25,000 members with more than 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Venango counties.
