The Shoe Dept. in the Cranberry Mall is closing its doors at the end of regular hours today, leading to another empty storefront at the mall.
A store representative confirmed to the newspaper Friday that today is the store’s last day.
No reason for the closure was given.
The Shoe Dept. joins a list of other stores that have closed in the mall in recent months, including anchors The Movies at Cranberry in January and Joann Fabrics in May.
Toronto-based Dundas Real Estate, which has a branch in Daytona Beach, Florida, was the top bidder at the auction, which was open through Nov. 3, 2022.
The last update the newspaper received on the sale was in May, at which time the broker handling the transaction, Philip LaMay, a Pittsburgh-based real estate broker for Texas-based Keller Williams Realty, said negotiations between the two sides were still ongoing.
He also said at that time that it had been a “difficult sale” and he was not “able to project when this will be finalized.”
