Organizers of the annual Cranberry Fireworks Spectacular and accompanying activities that are always celebrated July 2 are hoping the weather cooperates Sunday.
And if things go off as planned, the sky won’t be the only thing splashed with color Sunday evening as face painting and some other things are planned inside the Cranberry Mall.
Thunderstorms are in the forecast Sunday, but if the fireworks are still a go as the day goes on, children can look forward to face painting and balloon artists before the show, Cranberry Mall office assistant Linda Herbster said Friday.
Guests for the activities and the music should enter using the east entrance doors, Herbster said.
If the fireworks show is postponed, the events inside the mall won’t take place either.
In addition, there isn’t a carnival this year unless the rain date of Sunday, July 9, is used for the fireworks and other events. Then the carnival will also be planned as well.
Jeff Clark, the assistant property manager at the mall, did note that this is the 17th year for the July 2 spectacular in Cranberry and that the fireworks display has never been canceled.
