Cornplanter volunteer firefighters Dave Corle and Jamie Carson soak the ground around a brush fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon at the residence of Sharon Manross on Route 428 in Oakland Township. Keira Manross said a gust of wind came up when she was burning some old brush at her mother-in-law’s house and the fire just got out of hand. Several area fire departments responded to the blaze.
