Aqua Pennsylvania on Monday issued a boil-water advisory for about 130 customers served by Cooperstown Water Co. in Cooperstown Borough and Jackson Township, Venango County.
Aqua is advising customers in the affected area to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice.
Customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted, which would be no sooner than Thursday, according to the advisory.
A power outage has resulted in a loss of positive pressure in the distribution system, according to an Aqua news release.
Information on the receivership and the full advisory is available at aquawater.com/rhodes.
Questions may be directed to Aqua Pennsylvania at 877-987-2782.
Montgomery County-based Aqua has been operating the system as receiver under order from the state Public Utilities Commission.
