A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Route 322 and Sugarcreek Drive in Sugarcreek, involving a 75-year-old Cooperstown man and a 37-year-old Franklin man. The Cooperstown man, Larry R. Rarer Sr., failed to slow down and struck the rear of a Toyota Tundra driven by Aron J. Green, who had stopped to turn left. Rarer was fatally injured, and his 13-year-old passenger suffered a serious head injury, requiring airlift to UPMC Children’s Hospital. Green was unharmed, and local volunteer fire departments responded to the scene.
