Closure of Tippecanoe Road delayed

There will be a one-day delay on the nearly three-week closure of Tippecanoe Road (Route 4005) as part of the ongoing Canoe Creek Bridge reconstruction project in Clarion County.

The closure has been delayed until March 31 through April 19, at which point Tippecanoe Road will be closed between Thompson Hill and Stromyer roads as crews erect the new Interstate 80 eastbound bridge beams, according to a press release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

To detour, motorists should use Tippecanoe Road to Route 338, then to Route 208, onto Route 2007 (Huckleberry Ridge Road), before returning to the opened portion of Tippecanoe Road, the press release said. The detour route is 13.5 miles, which is about 20 minutes.

This project is part of the ongoing PennDOT Major Bridges P3 Program, the press release said.
