A stretch of Meadville Pike between Patchel Run and Route 322 in Sugarcreek was reopened Thursday at around 5:30 p.m., according to PennDOT.
The road closed around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday due to a tree falling down and taking down some utility poles, PennDOT confirmed Thursday.
“When trees fall down on wires or poles, we have to work with the utility companies to get them removed, for safety reasons,” District Press Officer and Community Relations Coordinator Jill Harry said in an email to the newspaper Thursday. “That means we can only estimate reopening times, like we had to do with Meadville Pike.”
